We can’t wait to cooperate with Koha Apparel and to support their mission!
For our Low Waste Life event in July 2020 we got in touch with Charli from Koha Apparel and asked her if she would like to talk about her vision and the bad influence of fast fashion on our planet and society. She didn’t hesitate and the Koha Apparel and SunnySunday relationship was established!
This year we will bring our visions together once again: The SunnySunday Community will have a look behind the scenes of Koha Apparel and support their vision of a world where perfectly fine clothes don’t end up in landfill and where every community member has access to clean, quality clothing - a basic need for all humans much like water and food.
On the day we will meet in the Koha Apparel storage and learn more about fast fashion, its impact on our environment and communities overseas, people here in our communities that live beyond the poverty line and sometimes not having clothes while every second, the equivalent of one garbage truck of textiles is landfilled or burned. But we will also learn how we can do better!
We will help Charli in the storage: sorting, folding clothing; stamping Koha Apparel bags; potentially washing or moving boxes. Afterwards we will have the opportunity to hang out, have a cup of tea, chats, a snack and.. do second hand shopping! You will have access to all the collected, washed and repaired goodies that Charli and her team sourced. The benefits of your purchases will directly support Koha Apparel. It is also an opportunity for you to donate your good but not so loved clothes to a local organisation (Please read donation guidelines first).
Does this sound like you? Then sign up quick since the spots for this event are very limited due to space constraints. See eventbrite link below.
We can’t wait to see you there!

How can we understand our bodies better in order to live a consciously healthier life?
This is an interactive focus on our internal Biology from the inner working of our cells, to the orchestra of processes throughout our bodies, and all the way to our innate powers of healing and self-efficacy. Beyond that is our external environment where we share many similarities with flora and fauna and a better understanding of this relationship/symbiosis can manifest a healthier existence for us all.
Please sign up for this event via the eventbrite link at the end of this page.
(Speaker: Rasam is an upcoming author, has a BSc in Biology and Health Science and is a certified Reiki practitioner)

Our friend and massive support Zane from @forallthebrothers is doing something MASSIVE and we want to back him the way he backs so many around him… Zane is setting out on a 24 hour walk to raise funds for charities on the frontline for Mental Health in New Zealand. Across the 24 hours, Zane has allocated 1-hour slots for groups to walk alongside him – to surround him in support, keep the banter fresh, and the vibe high – this is no easy feat and it’s a good thing to be part of.
We feel extremely fortunate that Zane has gifted us 2pm on Saturday 13th March. We welcome everyone to join us for this hour, and ask that those who want to join sign up in the link in our bio and put a donation (big or small) towards the causes Zane is raising funds for @iamhope_nz and @lifelinenz - ALL proceeds from the donations will be go into Zane’s givealittle page.
Spread the word and bring along any friends, family, partners or kids on the day. They will also have coffee, sausage sizzle, burgers from @luckygggggggg , raffles from goods and service donated by amazing people out there and more. As well as a bunch of good people there at the HQ sharing story’s, support, activities and goodness while the walk covering a 5km loop will be passing the IAMHOPE HQ every hour.
We feel humbled that we can be part of this day, and proud of all those out there doing their part towards this special event. We hope to see you there!
